Hello Quest families!!

Blue Folders - Students all should have a blue folder that stays in their backpacks.  We use these folders to send home any important information/forms.

Math - We are well on our way to learning how to find the area of shapes other than rectangles.  Students worked together to find areas of parallelograms and started to find the areas of triangles.  We continue to focus on our group work skills and how to take risks when problem solving. Next week we will have our first Math quiz on finding the area of parallelograms and triangles.

Language Arts - We are reading biographies for our first book group.  Students have read, looking for formative people in our biographies, for vocabulary, and history of the time period.  Our book groups have started out really well.  If you are interested in seeing a calendar of pages due, please go to the Quest Website (Language Arts), or ask your student to look at their Google Classroom.  Students are also studying spelling and vocabulary.

Science - We have studied photosynthesis, and looked at cells through microscopes.  We have an iNaturalist page now, and we are collecting photos for it!  You can follow the Quest Team on iNaturalist.  We are called Mrswilliamsquest.  We are learning about the producers, consumers and decomposers of the Crossett Brook area.

Social Studies - Our Social Studies group started learning about the history of the United States Constitution.  Students created their own ‘clubs’ and wrote constitutions for them.  We are also working with atlases, learning about scales, continents, oceans, and different types of maps.

Field Trip- The Quest Team will be going on our first field trip of the 2022-2023 school year.  We will be going to Little River State Park on Wednesday, September 28th.  There, we will learn about the environment with Brian Aust, a local ecologist.  We are crossing our fingers for a beautiful day.

If you are able, we would love to have you come along!  You will need to be fingerprinted to be a chaperone.   Please let us know if you are interested, and if you have your fingerprints completed.
